It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad.........

Every single day it seems the puppetmasters in D.C. manage to OFFEND me with their attempts to infiltrate our private lives; dictating our financial decisions, moral beliefs, and consumption habits. It's equally offensive and astounding to see the oblivious state people live in. I'm deeply concerned that the gravity and unconstitutionality of D.C.'s actions escapes them.

Is it not offensive that they seek to reverse individual state's abortion laws? Laws that YOU and I have passed by exercising our right to vote and make our voices heard?

Is it not frightening that they seek to model a national healthcare system after Great Britain's and Canada's? Do you know what lies ahead if they succeed? These headlines from the U.K. and Canada are examples of what happens when government involves itself in something it is ignorant about -

- Dental patients face care lottery
- NHS is "failing patients" despite record funding
- One in eight patients waiting over a year for treatment, admits minister
- Smokers and the obese banned from UK hospitals
- Smokers 'should not get NHS care'
- Cancer patients told life-prolonging treatment is too expensive for NHS
- NHS drugs regulator to withdraw approval of Alzheimer's treatment
- http://www.liberty-page.com/issues/healthcare/socialized.html#britain -
dozens and dozens of headlines like this at this link

Is it not misleading that they seek to cover healthcare costs for "45 million uninsured Americans", when a breakdown of this number tells a different story? According to the U.S. Census Bureau -

- 17 million uninsured have a household income over $50,000
- 14 million are eligible for S-CHIP but choose not to enroll
- 12 million illegal immigrants receive healthcare for free
- 18 million between the ages 18-34 ('invincibles'). They spend more than four times as much on alcohol, tobacco, entertainment and dining out as they do for healthcare

Is it not dictatorial that they seek to force volunteerism on today's youth, while at the same time, reducing federal tax deductions for charitable contributions? Inevitably, the "Serve America Act" (HR 1388 - S277) aims to steer the public to monetarily support "approved" charities rather than the school, church, shelter, and non-profit organization of your choice. In addition, our children will be FORCED to participate in charitable activities as part of their public education. http://www.redstate.com/hogan/2009/03/25/promoting-statism-in-the-name-of-service/

I am outraged every day. My choices, privacy, children, health, income, future, freedom - they're all being compromised by a few in Washington that insist on having control "for the greater good".

TYRANNY - arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power; despotic abuse of authority.

Think about THAT......
